 Team Formation:
We have developed a system for game management.
Our goal for the winter is to have a minimum of 16 kids at a competitive to elite skill set at
each age.
Our preference is to have a balanced team of 8 kids for games. When this occurs playing
time is a non-issue. When you have two teams of 8 practicing together it allows you to have competitive
practices and they can sub for each other if someone has a conflict and can't make a game.
This strategy allows kids to maximize reps in
games.
Teams will differ in the level of play and how heavy a game
schedule they play.
We have elite teams that play a heavy tournament schedule and
travel regionally. We also have teams that play in one league and 1-2 tournaments per session. The
level of play ranges from competitive to elite.
We have primarily focused on the middle school level in the
past. This year we are excited to expand to ages 3-8 and are looking to form High School Level teams after
the winter season.
For newly forming teams we are looking to start team practice in
Sept. Then play in a tournament in October, and start the CNR feeder league Nov 1st.
For existing teams and kids dedicated to basketball in the fall
we will enter a Vetta League starting in September.
Here is the current team status for November. Don't
wait until the winter. We will close ages as they become full.
People who join in the fall will have a proffered status for the
Winter. If a team isn't ready for fall league play they can start training and team practice to get ready
for the November leagues.
Team costs will vary based on the profile of the team.
Some teams will play a heavy tournament schedule and others will play in a local league and focus on
training. The other factor in team play cost is whether you are playing on a parent coached team, or
a paid coach team. The typical team play cost in a session is $150 which pays for a league and
practice.
